RSS

Dont know if any of you lot like to use RSS – stands for ‘Real Simple Syndication’ – but it’s pretty simple really, and sends all my interesting reviews straight to your email or somewhere similar. Its especially good for people like me who dont get hundreds of emails every day – makes me feel popular. … You might not want to use it here – I am sure I have more fun writing this site than you guys reading it – but here’s a real simple lesson, and it might come in handy elsewhere.

Look for the RSS tag in your browser address bar and click it. It’s blue in this picture because I am on a Mac.

The browser will open a new window asking how you want your RSS feed delivered:

My feeds are sent to my email client – Apple Mail – but Outlook will do it, or as you can see Google etc will also collect for you. Just that easy…

Google Calendar

Just not smart enough to make my own calendar and it seems like a lot of hard work especially since Google has made such a good one. If you want your event added added to mine, send me an email swg at viewhangzhou dot com.

If you have a Google account, you can subscribe to this Calendar in Outlook, Google Calendar, iCal and others.

For those of you whose wonderful location already exists on here, make your own google calendar with events added, and send me a copy of the ‘embed’ code and I will add a calendar to your page…

Gravatar is cooooool. Put your avatar up on www.gravatar.com and wherever you use that email address to log on, gravatar will show in your profile – assuming the site is gravatar friendly like this one.
