We went on a quiet night but despite that there is a good atmosphere in the restaurant. It has a nice and warm interior.

Angelo is a very passionate and friendly guy but his staff was simply below standard. Not the brightest waiters, this wasn't a language problem or anything since they also failed to impress while speaking Chinese.

The food was good. The mini-burgers were too fat for my Chinese guests but for me (as a Westerner) it was perfect.
I remember the salad to be slightly boring, not inspiring nor creative. Furthermore, I personally found the prices too high, especially for Hangzhou.

I wish Angelo the best of luck with his restaurant, it's not easy to start your own business in China.
Ciao!

From the minute you walk in the Angelo's you know you are in for something special.

The food is mouthwatering & the staff have a very pleasant manner. Do not go to the Angelo's for a fast meal as you will want to savour every morsel

Has anyone else been? Would like to know your thoughts & opinions . . .

Thanks

Angelo's is a most excellent & welcome addition to the local restaurant scene - by far, the best western fare I've had in Hangzhou. Had the cheese steak, risotto & ceasar's salad - well worth every fen & very reasonable with each under 60rmb. Their pasta & pizza offering alone will have me coming back many times in the near future.

BTW, the adjoining hotel WC reminded me more of NYC than anything else for anyone who has seen a typical apartment in the city & fit the place perfectly! They were clean & well attended, I think, by restaurant staff.

I cant remember the price for cheese steak. Mostly, starters / shared courses are 50-65Y, pizzas and pasta, burgers etc 75-90Y. And as usual the steaks are about double that. Chateaubriand seems expensive but it is big enough for 2. Should be able to have goood dinner for 150Y / per head, but like any restaurant worth its salt, you can spend alot more than that.

Personally I think pricing is about right

Fhilly Cheese Steak Sandwich did not really look as good as I expected, but tasted great. Jumbo Crab Cake Burger was surprising- really crab meat. My dessert Brownie Cheese Cake was perfect. Though I think it's a bit expansive(58RMB).

PS: Toliets belong to the hotel. Small, and was COLD(on the basement).
