MartiniJames Bond: Dry Martini.
Bartender: Oui, monsieur.
James Bond: Wait… three measures of Gordon’s; one of vodka; half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it over ice, and add a thin slice of lemon peel.

James Bond: I think I’ll call it a Vesper.
Vesper Lynd: Because of the bitter aftertaste?
James Bond: No, because once you’ve tasted it, that’s all you want to drink.

Sadly Kina Lillet is no longer available, but with a splash of absinthe instead, and perhaps a drop of angostura bitters, bingo. Yves does a wicked one in Provence.
